I love this time of year! It’s so full of change and revitalization. St. Patrick’s Day is behind us and spring is so close I can almost taste it. I’m already doing my spring cleaning and getting our outdoor spaces ready to have the family over. But, what has been growing is our list of new stores carrying Margot’s Morsels all the time – so exciting!
Once my home garden finished producing, I tried a Seasonal Produce Box from Good Eggs. This was a great way to eat seasonally and try local organic vegetables and led to recipes that I wouldn’t ordinarily try. The best part was that I could order it whenever I wanted without having to commit to a weekly box or, go pick it up like some local farm produce boxes and I’m trying to eat organically and locally, when possible.
If you are planning a dinner soon and are finding artichokes readily available be sure to try the recipe for “Morseled Hearts of Gold” based on a recipe from, one of my favorites, Food52 or, grilled asparagus with a crumbly morsel and shaved parmesan topping. Both are delicious! I’ve also tried a couple of simple entree options that will let you spend time with your family instead of being in the kitchen slaving over-complicated recipes, crusted beef tenderloin, rack of lamb, or if you prefer poultry, how about a traditional French cassoulet.
And, soon you’ll be back in your garden making things grow. I’ve been nurturing my seeds, preparing them for my summer garden: mostly lettuce, tomatoes, and soon, herbs. My seedlings will be ready to put in their beds, here in California soon. I can’t wait!
I hope you’ve been enjoying the new Marot’s Morsels Sassy Cin’Mon Sugar (or should I say, Sin-mon) sweet morsels. I’ve been using them for all kinds of sweet recipes. So, give them a try. I hope you enjoy this limited-edition flavor and I’ve received a nice response from everyone on these beauties that I’m going to extend their availability into April. So, enjoy!

I’ll continue to post recipes for my own family but, as always, if you’d like me to cover something else, or just give want to give me feedback, please do it at info@margotsmorsels.com. I’ll continue to tell you what’s happening in my kitchen and coax my husband, Milt, to guest blog on his baking adventures. If you are in the San Francisco bay area, come to the farmer’s markets in the North Bay Area and look for us. Right now we’re in Mill Valley and Marin Country Mart in Larkspur. I would love to meet you and find out how you use morsels. Don’t forget to Get Your Crunch On! |
