Serves 8, as an hors d'oeuvres. Are you itching to entertain, well this will get everyone on board. A great party dip with Margot's Morsels for dipping and also includes Margot's Morsels Crazy Crumbs in the topping.
Ingredients
-
4 ounces diced jalapeños well drained (or, 4-6 fresh jalapeños, roasted and diced – include seeds if you like it really spicy)
-
8 ounces cream cheese softened
-
1 cup sour cream
-
Sprinkle of cayenne pepper, at your discretion (leave it out if you think the jalapeños will be enough spice for you)
-
Freshly ground pepper, to taste (see note on cayenne above, either is a nice touch)
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
2 cups cheddar cheese shredded (I've also done it with 1 cup of Monterey Jack and 1 cup of cheddar)
-
¾ cup parmesan cheese shredded
Topping
-
1 cup Margot's Morsel Crazy Crumbs in Salt or Garlic
-
¼ cup parmesan cheese, finely grated
-
1 tablespoon fresh parsley
Preheat oven to 375°F.
With a mixer on medium speed, combine cream cheese, garlic powder, cayenne pepper and/or regular pepper and sour cream until fluffy. Add this mixture to cheddar cheese, ¾ cup parmesan cheese, and diced jalapeños. Mix well and spread into an 8x8 baking dish.
Combine Margot's Crazy Crumbs with ¼ cup shredded parmesan cheese and sprinkle this over the cream cheese mixture. Bake 15-20 minutes, or until hot.
To finish sprinkle the top with fresh parsley and let the party begin.
