Serves 5-6. This is a usually a deep fried appetizer but I prefer them baked for a lighter touch and you'll still get the crunch with the morsel crumb.
- 12 jalapeno peppers, halved lengthwise and seeded
- 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 4 ounces finely shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ cup Margot's Morsels Killer Garlic, crushed to a moderate crumb
- Cooking spray
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
Combine cheeses together and add onion powder then set aside while preparing peppers. Slice each jalapeno in half lengthwise through the stem and seed, using gloves to protect your hands from latent "heat." And, please don't touch your face.
Mound each jalapeno pepper half with cheese mixture and top with morsel crumbs. Arrange peppers on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven until jalapenos are tender and cheese melts, about 15 - 20 minutes.
Cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve as an appetizer and provide some cool ranch for spooning on top.
